CRN Spotlight
Christina Master, MD past recipient of the Young Investigator's Research Grant shares how receiving the AMSSM grant helped take her research efforts to new heights:
"When I first started out in sports medicine practice and saw kids with concussion, it seemed like visual problems were really common and substantially affected their quality of life, but not much had been described in the literature. That investment led to an entire line of investigation of visual problems after concussion in children.
AMSSM's initial investment in my research eventually led to work in fNIRS in concussion while performing a visual task which won the best research award at the 2017 AMSSM Annual Meeting and helped me obtain NIH R01 funding for my research that most recently resulted in a publication in JAMA Ophthalmology on the potential utility of pupillary light reflex metrics as a diagnostic for concussion. I will always be grateful that AMSSM was willing to take a risk on a young investigator at a critical juncture in my career.
Changes to programs are updated realtime with the exception of Director changes. Fellowship Directors must login to complete any changes to their program. They will have access to their programs information and can make changes that will take effect immediately. Any changes in the Fellowship Director must be completed by the outgoing Fellowship Director prior to leaving the program. A Fellowship Director change will shift the program status to pending. Any other modifications to the Fellowship listing can then be made by the incoming Fellowship Director.
