Congratulations to AMSSM member, Bianca Edison, MD, MS for being selected as the recipient of the inaugural AMSSM Foundation Minority Research Grant! Her research proposal titled “Play Equity Lessons Amongst Youth During and After COVID-19 (PLAY-C)” will investigate the role of the COVID-19 pandemic on play equity in minorited youth communities and assess barriers to physical activity and sport participation in underserved populations.
The AMSSM CRN 2021 “Stephen I Katz Bridge to R34” Research Grant opportunity is now open. This opportunity awards $150,000 for up to 2 years to a team of investigators to help gather necessary data to be competitive for an NIH-NIAMS R34 research grant proposal. The AMSSM Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, will be hosting its 10th Foundation Auction fundraiser to provide financial support for Foundation programs, research and initiatives in conjunction with the 2020 Annual Meeting on April 24-29, 2020 in Atlanta, GA. The previous Foundation Auctions have raised more than $260,000 to support Foundation programs, research and initiatives.
