Lab Studies:
Pertinent laboratory values included: WBC 15.2, 83.6% neutrophils, ALT 86, and AST 45.
Other Studies:
Right femur x-ray showed a nondisplaced impacted right femoral neck fracture.
An MRI of the right hip without contrast showed a lobulated lytic lesion with the pathologic fracture in the right femoral neck involving the greater trochanter, the right femoral head, and the subarticular surface. There was associated marrow edema about the lesion with mild varus angulation at the fracture site. In addition, extensive edema was within the surrounding soft tissues. Case Photo #1
