Lab Studies: None Other Studies: Radiology: 1. Left ankle and tibia/ fibula films were normal. 2. Lower Extremity Venous ultrasound showed an acute superficial thrombosis in the greater saphenous vein below the knee at the proximal calf to the foot with secondary edema/ cellulitis. No deep vein thrombosis was present. Consultations: Upon receipt of the venous ultrasound results, hematology was consulted by phone. Because of the size of the clot, it was recommended that he be admitted for inpatient anticoagulation and further hematologic work-up. Click here to continue.
