MRI of the knee demonstrated a low-grade chondral fissure of the middle third of the medial patellar facet cartilage with possible delamination along the lateral margin of the fissure, and a large 7x3x8 cm fluid collection centered within the deep subcutaneous fat at the fat-fascial interface located just superficial to the medial femoral condyle with a moderate to large amount of surrounding soft tissue edema. The lesion capsule was mildly thickened diffusely with a few internal septations. US showed the fluid collection as well. Case Photo #2
