Lab Studies:
The creatine kinase was 415. The comprehensive metabolic panel and genetic evaluation for clotting disorders were normal. The hemoglobin electrophoresis was negative. The antiphospholipid antibody test was positive for a lupus-like inhibitor. The peripheral smear showed no significant abnormalities.

Other Studies:
The chest x-ray was unremarkable. The EKG showed sinus tachycardia. The CT angiography of the chest showed diffuse bilateral pulmonary artery emboli Case Photo #1 .
The doppler ultrasound showed an acute, appearing, partially occlusive deep vein thrombosis within the right popliteal vein. There was no deep vein thrombosis in the left lower extremity.
