Broad Differential Diagnosis:
Given the method of injury and physical exam, a rotator cuff partial or full thickness tear was suspected. Specifically, an infraspinatous tear was suspected given the location of the atrophy on exam and his weakness with external rotation. Further potential diagnosis included shoulder impingement syndrome and subacromial bursitis as well as a labral tear.
