Calf Pain In A Cheerleader - Page #1

Author: Kelly Chain, MD Co Author #1: Rachel Apple, MD Patient Presentation: 16 year-old female cheerleader with no significant past medical history presenting with 2 years of right calf pain. Physical Exam: On exam there was no deformity, swelling, or bruising. She had decreased bulk and tone of the right calf. There was a palpable mass in the soleus muscle about 4x4 cm, which was firm and tender to palpation. Full strength with tested plantar flexion, dorsiflexion, inversion and eversion. She had decreased dorsiflexion at the right ankle. Gait and neurovascular examinations were normal. Click here to continue.
