Other Studies:
Initial Vital Signs: Temperature 40.3 degrees Celsius (104.5 degrees F), heart rate 132 beats/minute, respiratory rate 30 breaths/minute, blood pressure 150/90 mmHg, oxygen saturation 95% on 2 liters nasal cannula
Computed Tomography of the Head: Within normal limits
Right Upper Quadrant Ultrasound: Hepatomegaly
Left Upper Extremity Ultrasound: Deep venous thrombosis of the brachial vein
Computed Tomography of the Abdomen and Pelvis: Early cirrhotic changes with portal venous hypertension
Consultations:
Transplant hepatology was consulted due to the rapidly increasing liver enzymes in the setting of fulminant liver failure secondary to rhabdomyolysis and heat stroke. Transplant nephrology was also consulted for the patient's decreased urine output, significantly elevated creatine kinase and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
