Intact tendon fibers were visualized medially and laterally. Mild surrounding edema was present. No cortical irregularities were identified.

Case Photo #2 Case Photo #3 Magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a high-grade partial-thickness tear involving the insertional fibers of the patellar tendon at the inferior pole of the patella with adjacent edema and a small joint effusion. The hamstring tendons were intact. No medial or lateral meniscal tears were identified. No fractures present. The anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, and medial and lateral collateral ligaments were intact without evidence of tear.
