AMSSM Seeking Research Director


AMSSM is seeking qualified candidates for its newly created Research Director position who have prior involvement with multi-site research and a PhD (or masters level with prior experience) in basic or applied exercise sciences. The Research Director will lead AMSSM’s Collaborative Research Network that will foster collaborative multisite research among its members with a goal of advancing the practice of sports medicine. This position is open to applicants who desire to maintain their current academic appointment and/or place of residence, subject to verification that necessary arrangements could be made to satisfaction of all parties. AMSSM is open to shared funding arrangements to maintain academic appointments that are advantageous to both parties, with a minimum of 70% FTE dedicated to the AMSSM CRN. 

Primary responsibilities of the AMSSM Research Director include: 
● To promote high quality research collaboration between AMSSM members 
● To establish a process for prioritizing AMSSM-member collaborative research projects 
● To support the collaborative efforts of prioritized research by provision of comprehensive research services
