Application submission has now ended for the 2021 Class of AMSSM Fellows. New Fellows will be announced to the AMSSM membership after the first of the year and honored at the 2021 Annual Meeting.

AMSSM CRN seeks proposals from AMSSM members that focus on evaluating the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of the toolkit itself or address safe & healthy youth sport participation topics more broadly that are presented within the Play.Stay.Thrive Toolkit.
2021 Youth Sport Community Engagement Awards ($20,000): Deadline July 15
We are asking AMSSM members to partner with organizations within their communities to (1) disseminate and share the Play.Stay.Thrive toolkit and messages contained within it & (2) promote healthy and safe youth sport participation for all kids. The intent of these awards is to support members in their commitment to interact with their local communities & community organizations through sport - including underserved and underrepresented populations. These are not research awards.
The brochure and online registration are now available for the 2021 Hybrid AMSSM Fellows Research and Leadership Conference, to be held July 22-25 at Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel and online for those who attend virtually. This conference is only available to sports medicine fellows and features in-person and virtual attendance options.
Past Presidents and Board Member Featured In Wall Street Journal
The Wall Street Journal and Wall Street Journal TV recently featured Past Presidents Drs. John DiFiori and Paul Stricker as well as Board Member, Dr. Neeru Jayanthi, in simultaneous print and video reports. The print article highlights ways parents can help decrease potential risk for injury in young athletes by setting age-specific time limits. Drs. DiFiori, Jayanthi, and Stricker are all featured and discuss the AMSSM position statement on Overuse Injuries and Burnout in Youth Sports. Dr. Jayanthi was the featured guest on the WSJ TV segment, Lunch Break, where he went more in depth into why young athletes should train in multiple sports.
