Broad Differential Diagnosis:
Fractures: distal femoral fracture, femoral shaft stress fracture, displaced femoral physeal fractures, patellar stress fracture
Soft tissue/ligament: bony contusion, anterior and posterior cruciate ligament tear injury, medial and lateral collateral ligament injury
Nonmalignant/Malignancy: osteosarcoma, Chondrosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, Osteoid osteoma, Osteoblastoma, Osteochondroma, Chondroblastoma, Chondromyxoid Fibroma, Enchondroma, bony cyst, or thigh hematoma.
