CXR: no evidence of pneumothorax or other injury identified

CT neck angiography: Laceration noted within the soft tissues of the neck just to the left of the midline at the level of the thyroid cartilage with foci of gas tracking across the midline to the right and through the right lobe of the thyroid and into the pre-vascular space. Case Photo #1 No fluid collection or hematomas identified. Vascular structures appear intact without evidence of contrast extravasation or other vascular injury. Jugular veins appear clear. Air extends into the superior mediastinum without evidence of fluid collection.
