Lab Studies: None. Other Studies: X-rays of the left knee and left hip: No fracture, bony lesions, or periostitis observed. No knee effusion is present. There is no significant soft tissue swelling. Point-of-care ultrasound: The saphenous nerve was identified between the gracilis and sartorius muscles in the distal left thigh. External palpation directly over the saphenous nerve reproduced the patient's symptoms, while external palpation to either side of the nerve caused less pain.
