Cervical spine x-rays and CT scan were negative for fracture or dislocation. Brachial plexus MRI showed edema of the upper trunk. Ten days later he experienced the new onset of low back back and had a lumbar spine MRI which found blood in the distal thecal sac. Due to concern for possible CNS trauma, a brain MRI/MRA, cervical and thoracic spine MRI were performed. The cervical MRI revealed possible right C6 nerve root avulsion. An EMG at 4 weeks concluded there was a diffuse brachial plexus injury. A repeat EMG at 12 weeks did not find evidence of reinnervation. A CT myelogram showed a right C7 and C8 nerve root avulsions.
