3 view x-rays of the left hand showed no fracture Case Photo #5 , Case Photo #6 , Case Photo #7 .
MRI of the left hand without contrast showed an ulnarly subluxed extensor tendon over the middle finger MCP joint with increased signal around the tendon and dorsoradial portion of the MCP joint, concerning for a capsular or sagittal band injury Case Photo #8 .

Consultations:
The boxer was evaluated by an orthopedic hand surgeon to discuss potential surgical options for his sagittal band injury. After a shared decision making discussion, the decision was made to treat the boxer non-operatively.
