Lab Studies:
Complete blood count and sedimentation rate were normal
Other Studies:
Ultrasound done at the time of the initial visit showed a large mass adjacent to the long head of the biceps and lesser tuberosity. Case Photo #1 . MRI scan was ordered which showed inflammation and a partial tear of the subscapularis. Case Photo #2
Consultations:
The patient was improving with treatment and the mass was decreasing in size on serial ultrasound images. Case Photo #3 and Case Photo #4 .However, because of the persistence of the symptoms and concern for a possible malignancy, orthopedic consultation was obtained.
