Patient Presentation:
A 12 year old otherwise healthy male presented with right shoulder pain for 1 week.

History:
He was initially seen by a nurse practitioner who ordered an x-ray and referred him to our sports medicine clinic for follow-up and further evaluation. He is very active and participates in sports including baseball pitching and martial arts. He did not recall a specific injury, however noticed worsening pain after a baseball game. He denied any previous shoulder pain or other joint pain.

Physical Exam:
Vital signs were within normal limits. Patient is a well developed, well nourished male. There was no obvious deformity of the clavicle or shoulder. There was tenderness upon palpation of the lateral acromion. He complained of pain with abduction of the right arm on active range of motion. He resisted passive range of motion secondary to pain. Neurovascular exam was normal. He also exhibited negative signs for impingement or apprehension.
