Patient Presentation:
A 26-year-old male soldier of Ghanaian descent tested positive for Sickle Cell Disease

History:
He had undergone testing for Sickle Cell Disease for screening purposes. He was asymptomatic at the time of testing. He reported no history of Sickle Cell Disease, vaso-occlusive phenomena, or hemolytic anemia. He reported one prior episode of exertion-related lightheadedness and associated elevated creatinine kinase (peak 9822 U/L) while fasting.

Physical Exam:
General: Well-appearing, in no acute distress
Head, Ears, Eyes, Nose, Throat: no pallor or icterus
Respiratory: Clear to auscultation bilaterally
Skin: No rashes or lesions
