Patient Presentation:
53 year old male presents with chronic left knee pain following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. The patient's original ACL injury was due to a fall with direct trauma to the knee. The patient reported pain in the posterior aspect of the knee and distal thigh. There was intermittent radiation to the calf. The pain was described as aching, deep and accompanied by tingling and cramps in the calf. The pain was aggravated by prolonged walking and standing. It was alleviated by the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories.
History:
History of left anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with semitendinosus graft 3 year prior to presentation.
